Reconciliation Week

On Friday May 28th our Youth Parliament Aboriginal Student Representatives and AIEO’s helped mark National Reconciliation Week with the Shire of York by assisting in the unveiling of two new brass plaques commemorating the Ballardong Noongar and settler heritage of York. The plaques rectify historical inaccuracies about settler discovery of the area and mark an important step in the Reconciliation process for the Shire of York and its local Ballardong Noongar residents.
